105. Tempting the Witch

The Captain has accepted Tia to partake in his adventure, but is it the right move?

Her gray eyes gazed down at the wooden ship deck beneath her blue bare feet while she sat on a crate. She didn’t dare move, as much as she longed to. The trip to Ratchet hadn’t been quite so long before as this trip had been, but she continued to bite her tongue. A side glance made her see the small, green guardian who was picking at his nails with his dagger. Her eyes shifted to the other side and noticed the auburn hair elf smoking as he watched the passing sea. The troll pulled back her lips, grinning as widely as she could with her small tusks out of the corner of her mouth.

“Joo look bored, Ziggly,” she softly said, trying to avoid getting the elf’s attention.

“Shut it. I ain’t talking to you.” The goblin waved his dagger at the troll but avoided eye contact.

The troll chuckled and leaned slightly toward the goblin. “Joo be quick ta be ‘is dog again, eh? The goblin smiled and shifted toward her, the dagger pointed at her side. The troll laughed softly, again, avoiding the elf.

“Listen, Tia, I don’t care what the fuck you think you are, but you’re not messing with me and you’re not messing with him. You understand?”

“Ah, Ziggly, joo worreh too much. But, tank joo for convincin’ ‘im ta bring me wit ‘im.”

The goblin laughed. “Me? Only reason I wanted you along was because I know you can heal and with this stupid stunt coming up, we will need you. You ain’t all that.” His final words caused him to move away from both the crate and the troll, making her cackle loudly. The elf turned around and walked toward the two as he removed the cigarette from his mouth. His blue-green eyes glanced at them both. Tia looked up at him, smiling widely, while the goblin simply looked away.

“Sure, you two don’t look suspicious,” the elf said.

“Worried, Wolf?” Tia sneered.

“Not at all, Tia. In fact, I’m glad you’re here. Aren’t you?” He kneeled and looked up at her. “Aren’t you glad to be going back to the ship? I could have sworn that was what you wanted, eh?”

“Jes, I be ‘appy.” The troll simply smiled. “Joor friend ‘ere don’t be too ‘appy now.”

The goblin jumped and glared at the Tia. “I swear, Wolf, I’ll kill her if she does any voodoo shit.”

“She won’t, right, Tia?”

With a dangerous smile, the troll gave the elf a cold stare and replied, “Of course not, Wolf.” She hated calling him that instead of his real name, but she knew how close he guarded his name and being on a public transport ship, she knew he would not be pleased if she simply said it out loud.

“Good. See, Zig? And you were worried.” The elf laughed and rose to his feet, continuing with his cigarette. The goblin looked up at the elf and stomped his foot.

“If she does anything, Wolf…” He pointed at the troll, his index finger almost trembling, “I swear…”

“Trust me, Zig. If she does anything, you’re not the only one she has to worry about.” The elf winked and gave Tia a smile before walking away.

“Pompous elf,” Tia muttered and Ziggly laughed.

“Just noticed, eh?”

“Joo be smart ta stay away from ‘im.”

“I ain’t a fucking traitor, witch.” Ziggly again moved away from her when he spit out his final word. “Besides, he wanted you along too. For some reason, he trusts you.”

“And joo don’t.”

He dared to look at her, “Fuck. No.”

Once more, the troll laughed and leaned back against the ship. “Dat too bad. ‘Hoo be da one healin’ ya when joo be dying if joo get caught, hmm?”

“That’s the thing: we ain’t getting caught.”

“Da ‘Orde know ‘im.”

With his eyes shifting cautiously from side to side, Ziggly muttered, “Shut your fucking trap, witch. And we were only caught once. That doesn’t mean we’re remembered.”

“Not joo, goblin, but ‘im. ‘Ee have a certain way wit others, no?”

“Just shut up.”

“Remembah dat ‘Orde ship dat be capturin’ ‘im?”

“I said shut up!”

“Would be a shame if dey find ‘im again.”

The goblin subtly pointed his dagger at Tia, “Keep talking bitch, and you won’t make it off this ship alive!”

“Joo kill me against ‘is wishes?” A look of satisfaction appeared on the troll’s face when Ziggly turned to look at Wolf. The dagger fell away from her body and alongside his own. “Good, Ziggly. Joo no stupid.”

“I swear, Tia. Fuck up and I’ll kill you!”

“Wolf,” Tia called out, her gray eyes still on Ziggly. The elf turned back to look at both of them, causing the goblin to move away once more. “Now,” Tia muttered loud enough for Ziggly to hear, “Don’ threaten me, goblin.”

“Fuck yourself, Tia.” Ziggly walked a few steps away from the troll and she simply smiled. With both Wolf and Ziggly away from her, she closed her eyes and began to say a name.

“Admiral Lightdawn. Admiral Lightdawn. Dat be the man I must look fo’.” She turned to look at the back of Wolf’s auburn head. “Dat be the man ‘hoo be ‘elpin’ me.” Tia bowed her head and chuckled silently to herself as the ship arrived to Ratchet.
