19. Return to Stormwind

Cris is now fully functional and has decided to regain his business with the Slaughtered Lamb, in Stormwind.

The sun hadn’t even risen when Ziggly alerted him that they had reached Stormwind’s Harbor. A woman still lay asleep on his bed as he changed into his attire. “So soon eh?” ZIggly grinned with a hushed whisper.
“It’s Laerchel, asshole. She’s just sleeping in my bed. I slept in my chair. He looked at the blonde elf in the ragged pants and simple vest over her chest. She was the one who reminded him of his sister and he cared for her so much. “Are we close?” He carefully grabbed the obsidian pendant by the leather strap and slipped it into his pocket.
            “Ay, Captain.”
“Good.” He tightened his red sash around his waist, “Tell the crew to stay put and for fucksake, tell the Horde races to stay below deck!” Cris grabbed his white shirt and threw his jacket over, trying to look as professional as possible.
“Ay. I’ll be following you as close as possible.”
“Make it so. We’re heading to the Slaughtered Lamb. From there, we’ll see. “ He reached into his desk and took three envelopes. “I hope Jarel doesn’t mind that his payments are late. After all, I just died and came back.” The ship appeared to be slowing down and Cris grabbed his dagger, placing it and adjusting it in place on his hip. He took another dagger and slipped it into his large boot right before he tied his orange-red hair back.  “Alright, Stormwind here we go.”
“Remember, they speak in that cruddy common language.”
            “Ziggly, I know.”
Cris walked off the ship and placed his hat on, a wide brimmed leather piece that covered his face. The first people he met were the port authority. He managed to speak with the one in charge, reminding him of his debt to Cris’ father and headed toward the Slaughtered Lamb, preparing for the business he was so behind on.

There has been some trouble in town, Captain. The guards are the same as usual, but it may be best to avoid the Sheriff and his cronies. They’ll think of you as suspicious and the taxes will mount up, not to mention the fees I’ll have to pay if they find out you’re not human.”
“I’ll avoid him, be sure of that.”
“We’ll watch your ship. Remember, we do this for Mr. D’Avros, Captain. He was a good man.”
“Ay, he was and I thank you for that. Your loyalty will be compensated, make no mistake about that.”

Cris walked cautiously but smugly. He did like coming back to Stormwind and with danger in the air, it simply made the adventure a bit more exciting.
