51. On His Mind

Having taken another job from Stormwind, Cris and the crew make a quick trip to Ratchet to pick up some cargo marked HKPB Enterprises and deliver them back to Stormwind.

The ocean waves had been horrible since the earthquakes started to hit all of Azeroth. However, for the experienced sailors, such as Cris, Ziggly, and the crew of the Sly Whore, those waves were simply a minor inconvenience. While many of the men stood around watching and betting how high the next wave was going to be, several men were swabbing the deck, and their Captain, Cris, was simply sitting on the deck with his back against the railing, drawing something in his journal. Ziggly walked up to him, maintaining his balance as the ship tilted from side to side.
“Whatcha doing?” The goblin looked over at the journal and noticed the silhouette of a dark haired woman. “What?! You’re thinking of that wench again?”
Cris lifted his eyes and looked at the goblin. “You don’t remember what she looks like, huh?”
“They all look the same! Whiny, annoying, needy wenches!”
Cris shook his head and continued to draw in his journal, “And what if I still think about her? It doesn’t mean she’s ever going to take me back. It just means that I still have feelings or her, whether she does or not.”
“You’re stupid, Wolf.” The goblin looked at the journal again and sighed. “Come on! You’re a free man! How many wenches have you had since her? I bet I can count them on one hand!”
“Six. Now, if you have six fingers on one hand, that’s news to me.”
“Alright, six, but you’re Wolf! All the girls at Bay’s Booty would love to spend a night with you! You could have thirty under your belt. And under you!” Ziggly snickered and slapped Cris’ knee. “But no, you rather think of her!” He pointed at the dark haired image on the page.
“You really don’t remember what she looks like, huh?”
            “I don’t care!”
“Well, after we deliver this shipment, we’re picking up Jarel’s orders, delivering them back to the inns…and then I’m heading back to Orgrimmar.” Ziggly made a face of disgust. “I’m going back to Orgrimmar. You’re watching the Whore.”
            “Which one?”
Cris chuckled and added some more lines to his drawing. As he drew, he couldn’t help but wonder why she was following him. Why did she know so much about him? Why did she care? “Who are you?”
“What are you mumbling about, Wolf?”
Shaking his head, Cris looked at his journal and smiled at the sketch. “Nothing.”
Simply let me know where you are and I will go to you…
That’s all he had to do to acquire her company if he needed her. He slowly closed his journal and stood up, turning to look at the sea surrounding them. “I’m taking a nap. Let me know when we’re almost there.”
Ziggly rolled his eyes and shook his head, “Aye, Captain Lazy-ass.” Cris chuckled as he walked away, lifting his hand and lifting his middle finger in the air before walking into his cabin.
